Vintage Sewing Set & French General Panel

Well it has certainly been quiet some time since I have blogged.  But here I am !  Last week we held the final Let's Get Stitched Sewing Retreat !  After 10 years it was time to close the page on that chapter of our lives.

This gorgeous little Vintage Sewing Set was one of my projects on the day.  I made it from vintage linens and ticking.

I really enjoyed putting it together.

I have had the vintage ticking in my stash for quiet sometime and decided to be really brave and cut it up !

I teamed it up with a vintage embroidered tablecloth and utilised as much as I could of it.  The PDF pattern and the actual sewing set itself are both available over in my ETSYstore.

Whilst the retreat was on we visited a number of quilting shops in Hobart.  I do not go into the city very often so I really enjoyed browsing through the shops as much as all of the other ladies and I did make a purchase or three!  But my favourite purchase was this stunning panel from French General.

It is printed on linen and I decided to stitch the first one in chain stitch.  I have the perfect fabric to go with the redwork and will turn it into a scatter cushion when it's finished.

Unfortunately some of the ladies left a flu bug here for me so I have been laid up since they left but it has given me the opportunity to start stitching and I am really enjoying it.

The other 3 panels included are just as nice.

Although I think this sampler may be my favourite !

They are going to be great to stitch over the winter.

Let's hope it doesn't take me quite as long to blog next time.

Until then.
