Where oh where does the time go ? Just a blink these days and the week is over. I cannot believe that we are down to double digits before Christmas. 90 something days. I had best get a wriggle on with gift buying.
I follow a few local furniture upcyclers on facebook and one recently posted this photograph of a lovely little dressing table. I just loved the style of it and contacted her and pre-purchased it before it was painted. I asked to have it painted white with a little rubbing back and a dark stained top.
And here it is finished. Isn't it glorious? It will become a little desk for me in my studio when I put one back together!
I was recently gifted some lemons. To be honest I didn't really want to be stocking up my pantry or freezers at the moment as we are trying to use up what we have but I am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth so instead of making items to be stored I decided upon some lemon curd to make into tarts.
I just love the tang of curd made with fresh lemons. Nothing better and these were particularly tangy.
I then made a nice batch of pastry
And lots of tart cases to be filled with curd. Silly me forgot to take some pics of the tarts before they were demolished so you will just have to take my word for it that they were delicious.
The final touch up of our house is complete and the painters have now left. It was launched on the internet for sale on Monday and we are having an open home this weekend.
We have looked at a few houses in a few different areas but none have been suitable so far. We are praying that our house sells and that the perfect home becomes available at the same time.
I will share some of the photographs from the real estate in my next post. Lots of de-cluttering and cleaning has been happening.
And I cannot wait until we can put open homes and real estate agents into our past !
