It's going together ......

The Friendship Quilt is slowly coming together.

Block by Block and Row by Row

Thank you so much for the lovely e-mails and calls regarding this quilt - I am astounded by the popularity of it - There are just a few places left for the Complete Kit BOM in the same fabrics as I am using.  I was lucky enough to get a 3rd shipment from my supplier but I am sure that this is the last of it I can access.

I am toying with the idea of stitching a few blocks in redwork and offering it with the newly arrived Bunny Hill fabric line "Winter Wonderland" and a gorgeous co-ordinating thread from Kate & Pam at Cottage Garden Threads.  Let me know what you think ......

My second Block of the Month to be released this year is in the finishing stages - I can't wait to show you this one - But it will be a few weeks away yet - A little different from this one

.

Today I will be finishing up the final rows of "The Friendship Quilt" and packing up the thread packs to go out with Block 1 tomorrow to the Full Kit BOM subscribers - There will be a slight delay on the Cottage Garden Threads in some packs as Katie and Pam are currently dying me up a new batch. I will send these out separately once they arrive later in the week.

I'll be back tomorrow with another block or two.

The Friendship Quilt - Blocks 5 & 6

"Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart"

How true !!  Every block of "The Friendship Quilt" has a saying about friendship.  I know that a lot of them will ring true for you too.

There are 9 blocks in total plus the finishing instructions in Part 10

There are many ways that you can join in the fun stitching this quilt - All of the options are on "The Friendship Quilt" Tab at the top of the page.

A friend is a person who knows everything about you but still loves you anyway

I have a couple of these type of friends - Bless their hearts !

None of us are perfect but our true friends love us warts and all - LOL

So goodbye until tomorrow when I'll be back with another block to reveal.

Off to the sewing machine I go to get this baby together !

The Friendship Quilt - Blocks 3 & 4

Thank you so much for your overwhelming response to my new Block of The Month.  It is going to be such fun sharing each block with you each month.

Here is Block 3 - "Friends are like stars they come and go.  But the ones that stay are the ones that glow."

I have had lots of enquiries about a PDF version of this BOM - I have decided to offer each month of the Quilt as a 10 month subscription for $6.00 per month.  The pattern will be e-mailed to you each month after the 1st of the month.

Alternatively if you do not wish to enter into a subscription the blocks will be available after release to subscribers in my CRAFTSY shop for $7.00 per month - Please note that the PDF versions do not receive the pattern cover as part of the download.

For those of you that expressed interest a few weeks ago you will be receiving an e-mail from me over the next 24 hours once I catch up.

The availability of Full Kits is diminishing rapidly and I have ordered what I can from my fabric supplier so if you are considering this option and want to make it in the exact fabrics as me don't leave it too long as this option will finish once I run out of fabric.

And here is Block 4 - "Friends are the family we choose for ourselves"

All of the friendship sayings come straight from the heart and I know that many will resonate with you and instantly make you think of a particular friend.  That is the beauty of friendship - A kindredship of the heart and a blessing to our soul.

I think this quilt would look equally as beautiful in redwork - Don't you?

Or maybe because it uses 2 1/2" squares you could use up some of your stash?

Just simply choose a Cottage Garden Thread that melds with your scraps and then match up 5 or 6 DMC threads to the tones in the variegated - It's as easy as that.

To find out how to subscribe simply go to THE FRIENDSHIP QUILT Page.

I'll be back tomorrow to reveal another block on a very special day for Australian and New Zealand residents - Anzac Day.  Lest We Forget.

The Friendship Quilt - Blocks 1 & 2

Today I am introducing you to the first 2 blocks of my newest Block of the Month - "The Friendship Quilt"

I have enjoyed stitching each block so much and can't wait to share the finished quilt with you.  Each month contains a heartfelt friendship saying.

Block 1 is - "A friend is one who believes in you when you have ceased to believe in yourself"

So very true.  Each block is not limited to just making the quilt.  The stitchery sized at 8 1/2" X 12 1/2"  lends itself to being used in many different ways, A Bag, Wall Hanging, Cushion or many more uses.  Collect all 9 and use them anyway you wish.

Each block is bordered by gorgeous 2 1/2" squares.  The quilt uses an entire jelly roll which includes the binding.  It also has a border fabric and 30" of background fabric.  I am putting it together right now ready to be sent for quilting.  The finished quilt measures 50 1/2" X 58 1/2".

I am offering the BOM Programme in 2 ways.

Paper Pattern Only for $12 per month or a Complete Fabric, Thread & Pattern Kit for $29.50 per month - Both run over 10 months and include full instructions to complete each block and finishing instructions for making the quilt in part 10.

Over the next week or so I will reveal the rest of the blocks to you along with the finished quilt.

I hope you love it as much as I do.

Here is Block 2 - Side by side or miles apart, Friends are forever close to your heart

Every block has little applique hearts which are cut from the jelly roll strips and easily blanket stitched down.

Each block is bordered by beautiful chain stitched Cottage Garden Thread in Sweetwater which matches the fabric range "Printemps" and the DMC Threads I have used perfectly.

Isn't it a gorgeous range?

Sign Ups are now being taken for both options of the Block of the Month.  Simply go to the Friendship Quilt Page at the top of the page or click the link for further info.

I'll be back tomorrow to share another block with you.

Hugs,

Fee xx

Easter

Did you have a lovely Easter?  I did all of my children came home on Sunday and it was lovely to have them all together including all of the grand babies.  I made each of my grand daughters a little bunny from a Rosalie Quinlan pattern.  I had to write their names on the back to avoid any confusion.

Somehow Miss Isabelle ended up with two - I think she bunnynapped one from someone else LOL

Sam my daughter is a lot like me and always gets into the spirit of the occassion - Imagine her children's faces when they were greeted with their very own easter bunny on Sunday morning.

What would a break from work be without sewing?  I chose to spend some time on a little hexie project I am designing.  Aren't these pretty?

I have had these fabrics put aside for sometime just waiting for the right project.

I also fussy cut some more flowers for my Shabby Garden project - I love everyone of these flowers.

And I managed to fit in some baking.  This cake is called "Apple Cake in a Nutshell" - We had some warm just out of the oven with whipped cream - Delicious !!

Towards the end of the week I am going to start showing you the blocks in my "New" BOM called "The Friendship Quilt" - I am currently stitching the final block.  I can't wait to show you.

Have a lovely week.

Hugs,

Fee x

Busy Weekend

My busy weekend begun on Friday night as soon as I finished work - I had to pack all of my stock for the local "Quilter's Easter Showcase" which I attend locally every year.

Then it was up early Saturday morning to travel to the venue and set up my little stand.  It was "Garden Treasure's" real first public appearance and was adored by many, with quite a few sign ups for this BOM - It makes the hard slog of putting together a Block of the Month worthwhile when people love it as much as you do -It makes the heart swell !

This "Friendship Day" is always a lovely day full of lovely quilters and lots of lovely trade tables. You can just see my Lucious Lucey quilt to the right it was her first public appearance too.

The organisers do such a great job.  Well done ladies !

Yesterday after spending the morning cleaning and tidying I baked an Orange Cake and sat down to stitch.  I have had some little stitcheries traced out for a new project for quite some time but I hadn't stitched a stitch in them as I currently have 2 Block of The Months I am working on - They got the better of me yesterday and even though I have heaps to do on the BOM's I felt I just had to stitch one of these new drawings.

Oops - Forgot to turn this pic - You'll have to imagine the basket up the right way LOL

So after a few hours this little block is finished.  I can't wait to start the next one :)

My lovely friend Jenny has today released her latest magazine so this morning I downloaded my copy from her store and have it ready to sit and enjoy at morning tea time.
