Renovating

We bought the house we live in around 7 years ago.  It is a large house - Almost too large for us now, and it is completely timber lined.  Ceilings, Walls, Doors - Everything......

I have always loved the warmth of the timber but disliked the darkness it gives the home.  I have tried to convince hubby for a long time that painting it all white was a good idea.

Finally he agreed that it might look nice.  So we employed a professional painter and have carved the house into stages so it is easier on the budget and so that it doesn't interrupt our lives too much.

Stage 1 was our hall way and back entrance porch.  The painting begin earlier this week and was finished on Friday.

We love it !!  I am totally in love with it's brightness and freshness.  Hubby Loves it too which is even better and I got to do the I told you so thing

Stage 2 begins on Friday with 3 of the bedrooms and the loo being painted.

New carpet goes down in 3 weeks time too.  I am super excited to see it all finished.

I will keep you updated with progress shots.  I can't wait to start decorating the rooms with all of my shabby bits and pieces I have been stashing away for when the time came to finally get this house looking how I wanted.

And it will also mean some treasure hunting too - One of my favourite pastimes

What do you think?

Hugs - Fee x
