Another Week

I just can't believe that we are almost at the end of another week.  Where is the days and weeks of this year disappearing to ? As the days pass so to does winter and I am very much looking forward to welcoming spring in 5 weeks time.  Sunshine makes me smile.

So do these gorgeous cup and saucer sets which I purchased recently on our trip to the Robert Gordon factory in Victoria.  They are just so pretty.

How can you not smile at pretty china?

Something else that makes me smile is the creativity of some of my closest friends.  Dawn ( The silly IPAD wont let me link her blog but it is http://dawnhaydesigns.blogspot.com.au/ ) one of my best buddies and never ceases to amaze me.  She is about to launch a FREE BOM on her blog. Pop over to get the details as this is one that you won't want to miss.

Wet & Wild

It's been horribly wet and wild in Tasmania so yesterday after getting home from work I snuggled up in my PJ's and Dressing Gown and had lovely cuddles with Dreamer under a quilt.  What better way to pass away a few hours.

Thanks so much to everyone who entered the give away.  The winner is "Noela Young" congratulations, I will be sending out your prize later today.

Plugging Away

Like everyone I have lots of UFO's but when I signed up for Chick Jubilee and the Fat Quarter Shops Mystery BOM I made a little promise to myself that I wouldn't fall behind.

So with Block 2 of the Mystery BOM in transit I thought I had best get a wriggle on and last night I completed Block 1 which was designed by Fig Tree Quilts.  The whole quilt is made using Avalon which is very pretty.  Now I am really looking forward to Block 2 arriving.

This month Patchwork and Stitching magazine has a lovely profile on me.  It is beautifully written and made me feel very chuffed.

And they chose some of my favourite projects that have graced the pages of their magazine in past editions.

There is also a pattern to make my Granny Square Quilt

And a pattern to make my "A Home is Made of Love" Stitchery.

I have one of these gorgeous house buttons from Theodora Cleave to give away with a pattern pack to one lucky blog reader so simply leave a comment to enter.  I will draw it on Friday night.

On a Roll ............

Two posts in two days !!  Wow I'm impressed.

Today after about 5 months of sitting on my desk at work, I finally managed to bring home these candy jars given to me by a bride.  She used them for a lolly bar at her wedding ( we have around 20 weddings per year at work) and she no longer wanted them.

I scored 3 of them and decided that they would be perfect for storing my baking cups to keep them clean and dust free but still on display.

So now they have a new home on top of my fridge.

What about you are your baking cups on display in your kitchen?

Almost A Month

It's been almost a month since I have blogged.  Life just seems to get more hectic around here.  In that time I have had 2 weeks holidays which included a 6 day trip to Victoria.  I am back to work tomorrow which means back to my normal routines.

Our trip was much needed "us" time and went way too quick.  We caught up with lots of friends, some we hadn't seen for ages.  We had some retail therapy and did our bit for the economy.

Things have been a little quieter on the sewing front.  I have finished a few commissions for some magazines and have plodded away on some BOMs, trying to keep up to date.

And we have had 2 new additions to our breeding Cattery.  Meet ULANI and VASHTI.  2 gorgeous Australian Mists who had their first show today and did very well.

Hopefully I can be a better blogger and pop back in here more often.

Hugs,
