A Dream 1 year ago of holding a bloggers weekend full of fun and laughter, new friendships and learning new skills is over.
It's hard to believe that a year ago sitting around a motel room gigling and laughing like school girls Joy, Dawn, Vicki and I dreamed up "Let's Get Stitched". We dreamt of a retreat like no other, of structured tutorials, of laughter, of party games and pizza nights and of day trips and shop hops. We have just spent an awesome 4 days with some wonderful ladies from around Australia and also from New Zealand.
Each bag not only contained a pattern from each of the 6 designers but also a starter pack for each project so that they could learn the special techniques with the tutor.
You can imagine the buzz that this created as each lady delved into her bag of patterns and goodies
And Lillian from Esme's Quilting Shop gave each lady a gift voucher and some fabrics.
The oohs and aahs continued throughout the day
There was plenty of retail therapy with 6 trade tables
Each designer held 5 X half hour tutorials on the techniques used in their project. And spent one on one time with every lady. This is Jo's project - Isn't it goegeous - She is our "Paper Crafts" Queen.
This is Dawn's Project - I totally love this cushion !
And Vicki's Around & Around table topper project is so pretty.
This was our communal area of the room where we sat and ate and chatted over coffee inbetween the tutor groups.
And each lady received a lovely "apple" name tag made by our Jo.
I have so much more to show you and so much more to tell so there will be a few more posts to come. If you are sorry that you missed out then I am pleased to tell you that in 2013 we will be running "Let's get Stitched in Adelaide" hosted by Dawn - Dates to be announced soon and just for plenty of warning in 2014 we will be holding "Let's Get Stitched" in New Zealand hosted by Michele. Isn't that exciting?
I am off now for another short nanna nap.
