For those of you that are used to a warm climate 30 degrees celcius may be on the cool side but things start to really heat up here in Tassie once the thermometer begins to climb on the wrong side of 30 which it has done here in Brighton for the last 2 days.
The first thing we do when the weather heats up is to make sure that the hens are let out early to give them a chance to pick around before it gets too hot and then find a nice cool spot to spend the rest of the day until dinner time when they return to their hen house.
Mother Nature has also been kind this week giving us some lovely pink eye potatoes
And some lovely sweet apricots
I have spent some time making up lots of these Vintage Music Sheet Paper Lavender Sachets for orders because they are on special over in my shop and are floating out the door.....
And I have been packing orders ready to send out
I also picked a bunch of flowers (Agapanthus) and Pepper Corn Tree Branches for a display in our family room.
I never realised how delicately sweet the buds of the agapanthus are - They are very pretty and I can see them featuring in a design in the near future.
I have just one more day of recreational leave left until I return to work so I have a couple of special visitors coming around to sit and stitch tomorrow - I think I will need to make a batch of scones.
I hope you are enjoying the start of 2012.
Hugs - Fee X

Yuk to the high temeratures. Where I live in NZ it's known to be the wettest part of the country, however, the last couple of days has seen over 30 degrees at our back door - needless to say I've been sitting indoors with the fan on quietly stitching. I'll leave the rushing around outside to my hot weather loving DH.
Keep cool and enjoy your last day off
hugs
Miche'le xx
Gorgeous weather! Yummy pink eyes! Had my feed on some while staying at Mum's
What a fabulous productive garden. Have heaps of fun tomorrow.
You are always so productive Fee. Those apricots have my mouth watering, fresh off the tree I bet they taste sensational. I love your vintage music lavender bags. Tracee xx

Hi Fee, It's been hot here in NE Vic too! The air con has been going all day. Nice to see your girls out enjoying the garden. Great produce - we managed just 1 apricot from our tree this year LOL I have more potatoes that should be ready pretty soon - nothing like fresh spuds!
Gosh - so hot for Tassie - hopefully it will be over soon. Brisbane hasnt had the real heat yet - still under 30 - fortunately - but its due to hot up this week - Come On Winter!!

A gorgeous post. Ahhhh how I'd adore to be able to run a couple of girls in a yard, if only. The cooler weather has been a dream in Sydney and the agapanthus must surely be our newest national bloom, they're everywhere up here. Happy 2012 Dear Fee to YOU and Your Darlings.
