August is the last month of winter here in Australia and it was bitterly cold and wet here at Brighton. I am not sorry to welcome Spring. The garden is beginning to come alive with colour and each day I can see more blooms opening their eyes looking for the glorious sunshine.
The daffodils have managed to poke their heads through the weeds and open their beautiful petals to reveal their hearts and scent. Just looking at them makes me smile.
Even some of the succulent and waiting to burst out in flower. Spring is a month of changes and all for the better I believe !!
The same can be said for our home. There are lots and lots of changes happening. Most of which I am unable to reveal to you until next year once everything is in place and I am sure it is going to happen but 2012 is going to be a life changing year for us.
Lots of purchases and plans have been made in readiness...... Contracts have been signed and now there is no turning back.....
I didn't achieve nearly as much as I would have liked in August but I did still manage to make some progress on some things so here is my show and tell for the month. Here is Block 3 of Berries and Bluebirds. Almost finished.
A hexagon flower for a new project.
The last block of Tis The Season is almost finished - Just a few more stitches are required.
A new sewing bag design
And a casual bag
I managed to make 5 of these little wall hangings - They just need their binding now.
A gorgeous Friendship Wall Hanging
And lastly a new pincushion and scissor keeps design.
So that is the end of my August Show N Tell. I did also managed to take up a few hems and to do a bit of pattern writing.

Is the sun shining where you are? If so forget about the chores, the garden and everything else that requires your attention and spend a little time walking around your little plot in the world and really look at it and appreciate it for what it is "yours". Sometimes we spend far too much time wishing for what we don't have but instead we should be appreciating what we already do have.
I have been very guilty of this but keep reminding myself to be thankful. It really does help your head space when you can just learn to stop wishing and hoping so much for things that may never happen. Live for today and pray that there is a tomorrow.
All a bit dark and deep from me today isn't it? I have had cause in the past month or so to take a good hard look at my life and to make some changes which I hope are for the better. I am in control and instead of wishing and hoping I am going to make things happen.
Wish me Luck !! I have a feeling I am going to need it.
Love and Hugs,
Fee XX

Hey Fee, you dark and deep??? Never!!!
Now Missie those weeds are really just plants that you never even planted ; ) Boy I have heaps of them here but it's still just a touch too cold to get out there and pull them out.
Lots of luck for your secret venture, hugs
Miche'le
I wish you all the best Fee.
What ever you're up to I'm sure you made a wise choise.
Take care.
Hugs Pia
I completely agree with your sentiment. Life is way too short to sweat the small stuff. We need to just make the most of whatever we have and be happy!
Lots of lovely stitching...love your hexies. Good to take stock of life & implement change!
Great lot of projects there Fee,and here's to the future,where 1 door closes another 1 opens,keep smiling.oxox
You have been busy - and from the sound of it we're only seeing the half of it! Whatever you're planning, well done - because I suspect that you've already jumped the biggest hurdle:)
Season changes, life changes it is all part of the journey in between our birth and death dates. So go ahead full steam , winter has passed and the sun is out today and it is just as bloomingly lovely as your hexie.
It was a good month Fee, love the new designs...go for it Fee...
Not dark and deep, but very wise words. Enjoy spring! We are going into fall here (and have been for all of the so called summer!) Can't wait to see what you are up to. I will wish you lots of luck, but I don't think you'll need it!
You will get there my Dear I know you will and it looks like you have been pretty darn productive to me
Love the new hrxagon Looking forward to seeing what you do with it
Hugs
Looks as though you were pretty productive to me! Summer is winding down here. It wasn't much of a summer. We've only had nice weather for the last couple of weeks. Hang in there! Every day is a new day.
Oh gosh Fee this sounds exciting!
You have done a lot!
Nice to feel the sun isnt it. We were out a lot today.
Hi
Am new to your site. Love your daffodils. Tried to do some weeding today but, ground very hard and too many weeds and a cold windy showery day - good excuse to come in and do some stitching. You have had a busy August.
It sounds like a change of seasons for you... I do love Spring and I hope your changes are just as bright and happy.... lovely, lovely work you have done this month...
Hugz
Fee I think what you've written is quite profound. I read somewhere (and I've never forgotten it) that "the secret to success is not having what you want ...... it's wanting what you have" :o).
By the way, your designs are just gawjus - particularly partial to your fabulous fussy-cut hexies :o)!!!
Whatever it is you're up to dear one, I wish you every success. I hope you can look forward to nothing but good things coming your way ;o).
Love n hugs,
Joy ;o) xxx
I agree with you totally, Fee. I have an article I wrote on an old blog a few years ago about contentment. I will get it posted sometime in the near future. Something I need to remind myself of frequently. :-)
Your projects are beautiful and you did get a lot done!
Lovely Post & your Garden is Looking Gorgeous...
Sounds like a Great Venture your heading into it..hmmm are we allowed to Guess...I'm probably wrong anyway..lol
Lots of lovely projects you have been doing considering..

Hi Fee! You must be very happy with all that you have achieved for the past month. Love the fussycut hexie and your new designs. :)
Yes, I decided a little while ago that I would be content with what I have- so what if our house is old, needs paint, new carpet, etc, etc? There will always be people who have a lot more worldly goods than we do, but there are millions of unfortunate people in this world who would be deliriously happy to have half of what we have, and there are things in life that money won't buy, such as health and love, true friends, a loving family.........
Gee I'm getting deep too- have a beautiful Spring!! Hugs from Sandy. :)
Whatever your plans Fee i wish you luck. It all sounds so very exciting. Love all your projects. Flowers are gorgeous too. Hugs,
Not only have you achieved a lot physically but mentally as well Fee :) Your garden is lovely and it is a nice thing to realise that what you have got is precious ...no matter what it is or how much or how little. I look forward to hearing about all your plans and wish you well with them. Hugs Vicki x
Not dark and deep at all Fee - just a reminder to us all to appreciate what we have and make the most of it.
Good luck with the new project!
Fee I wish I could give you a great big hug, you are in my thoughts and prayers for the best year yet - get out and enjoy the sunshine for me too, ok? Your projects are all so beautiful, you really did get a lot done in August! Wishing nothing but happiness for you, dear Fee....
Fiona you have been the inspiration for a lot of us lately with all your family has been through. God bless you all and hope that Spring is the beginning of lovely lovely things for you all, especially your son
I,m feeling jealous, our summer is coming to an end - far too early x
Hi Fiona, I love the idea of your nice smelling waxy flowers in your fabric. I dint know what to do with mine when we moved, so I used Napthalene flakes, and now I will have to wash and/or air everthing I come to use! Hmm...I wonder what you have coming up in 2012? I do hope it is something wonderful for you Fiona. Hugs n Blessings from Sue xx
