I think we would all prefer to use less chemicals in our homes. A blogging friend recently told me about this wonderful citrus cleaner that she uses in her home. It is so easy to make so I thought that I would give it a go.
You need some citrus peel, white vinegar, water, a jar and a bit of scrap fabric to pretty up the jar.
Cut the peel up into medium sized chunks.
Place into the bottom of the jar.
1/2 fill with white vinegar and then fill to the top with water. Place onto a window sill for around 2 weeks and let the vinegar and citrus peel work it's magic. I'll be back to show you the next step soon..... Mine is almost ready to use.
Don't waste your oranges either. I chose to juice mine using my lovely Robert Gordon Juicer.
It is one of my favourite pieces of Robert Gordon although it is probably the plainest :)
You truly can't beat freshly squeezed orange juice
And now my little secret. The wonderful people at Accuquilt are giving me a Go! Baby to play with and also another one to give away to one of my lucky readers. Isn't that wonderful? Stay tuned for the give away in the next week or so.

Great tip with the citrus vinegar. I will have to try that :)
The question is what will get the most attention from you. Your new toy or the cleaner *LOL*
Last week I cut my index finger badly - again - with the rotary cutter and DH is now threatining to remove all sharp objects from my sewing room. I better add a Go Cutter to my wishing list...

That cleaner looks good! I am not having much lucky with the dish washer version I read on a blog : o (.
Accucut has been very generous lately a few blogs have been giving them away...
the citrus cleaner sounds interesting....must give it a go.
Lucky you with the Go!baby...they look like a lot of fun with all the different shapes...
cheers Julz
I love the idea of natural cleaning products and love the fragrance of oranges so I'm going to start my potion tomorrow. Thanks so much for the recipe.
I just read a blog post about using citric acid in your toilet bowl, it'll cut through hard water stains and anything else. So this intrigues me, I'll have to go get the ingredients! Lovely juicer, fee. And woohoo, a baby Go!
I have just recently started making my own cleaners too. I make an all purpose spray and dishwasher detergent. I haven't tried laundry detergent yet though. I was wondering if you can use lemons instead of oranges? I have an abundance of lemons at the moment but wondered if there was something special about the actual orange peel?
I might have to make up some of that cleaner, it looks like my kind of thing...I'll be back to try for the "Go" too
How Lucky are You...Have FUN with Your New Toy!!
cheers
Looks interesting....sounds good. White vinegar is great stuff...I've been using it for a few things lately including a couple of splashes in with the wash for a fabric softener. Thanks for sharing.
I can't wait to see the next step! I need a more natural way to clean. The chemicals are really getting to me the older I get. I'll check back soon for the GO details. I am just learning to quilt and this would be fantastic! Thank you for sharing all the great ideas...

The cleaner sounds great, and so does your new toy, good things happen to special people eventually. Cheers Pat.
You think you can do this with lemons too?
I am going to try this.
As I get asthma from a lot of the cleaners I am going to try this. could you use Lemons or is there some thing in the oranges that work better?
