A Bit More Christmas Stitching & A Trip.......

The new Anni Downs Book is so lovely. This little Birdcage Key Chain is so sweet.

I decided to do my own spin on them and used some Theodora Cleave buttons instead of appliquing the bird. I have made 4 of these to put into my christmas gift stash. They are just so lovely. The little Birdcage slips over the keys to hide them when not in use but slips up when you want to use them. So cute !!

I have also made some more Journal Covers - This time using some of my Bliss Jelly Roll - That makes 6 journals for the month !!

Our family has had a few tough times over the last few months so we leave today on a little trip to Victoria for a little bit of R & R. Sam will be holding the fort for us here. We leave tonight on the ferry to go to the mainland. Stay tuned as I have packed the camera.

The Goodies

Sorry that it has taken me a few days to get back to you with some pics of my purchases in Sydney. I am on holidays at the moment and the weekend and yesterday have been so busy around here that I just haven't had the time to even pop by and blog hop.

As you can see I brought home lots of goodies including this lovely fat 1/8th bundle "Clermont Farms". I also bought 2 X Will & Lilly Jelly Rolls + 2 X Bliss Jelly Rolls. A Moda Advent Box, Floriana Stitch and Wash, Quilt Labels + Anni Downs & Natalie Bird's new books.

Lots of Trims - Included Beaded Trims, Ric Rac and the sweetest little satin roses attached to white ribbon.

I also met the gorgeous Pam Spurway from Cottage Garden Threads who is just lovely. Her threads are so beautiful - It was like a lolly shop. My order that I had placed a few weeks prior was on my doorstep when I returned home so I am going to have lots of fun stitching with them. I will also have them on my site at the Craft & Quilt fair in Hobart in July.

I had best be off and go looking for my Mojo - I think I left it in Sydney.
Hugs,

The 3.45am Evacuation

Night 3 of our Sydney trip was spent in a different hotel closer to the city. You know those horror stories of cheap motels with the sign hanging off that you see in those Hollywood movies? Well the "Haven Inn" was just like that. Although not cheap it had all of the extra's like a stinky fridge, no heating, noisy and I could go on and on ...... But the best part was that it had clean sheets and pillows.........

Helen did her very best to get the heating operational but all to no avail. So we donned our coats and made the best of it with a nice glass of wine.

To top it all off the "Night Manager" was obviously a mad soccer fan and decided to cook himself some toast at 3.45am which he promptly forgot about and set off the fire alarms. The whole hotel was evacuated.

Not a nice feeling to be woken by a fire alarm but I suppose it is better to be safe than sorry - I grabbed my handbag which had my camera inside so I could share the experience with you all........ We did have a giggle when we trudged back to bed in our PJ's - That is one trip we won't forget.

I'll be back next time to show you all of the goodies I brought home.
HUGS,

Inspirational Eye Candy

Well the 3 Amigo's (Helen, Jo & I) have arrived home from the Sydney Trade Show. We had a lovely 4 days away - I have lots to show and tell you but I thought today I would start with some Inspirational Eye Candy. This is a little look at the Pattern Press stand.

And the Gorgeous Natalie Ross with her new book and lots of colourful eye candy.

The lovely Monica of Moonshine Designs. This lady knows how to design the most beautiful clothing and quilts.

Lots of new release French General Accessories and a lovely new Bareroots book.

Lots of Will and Lilly Accessories (Bunny Hill Designs) + Baby Clothing and Baby Quilts

These dolls are just divine. The Clown doll was my favourite.

As a dabbler in design I found the whole show to be very inspirational and saw the launch of some fantastic new products from some of the suppliers to the industry. I now need to place some orders and re-stock my E-Bay shop over the coming weeks - Blissful fun !!

I have lots more to show and tell you over the coming days including the 3.45am evacuation of our hotel - Yes you did read right...........
Until then,

Some More Christmas Crafting + Hexie Flowers

I have made a few more things to put inside my christmas gift box including these 2 heat packs.

And these two shabby wall hangings each taking a fat 1/8th of fabric for Judith's challenge.

They are so quick and easy to make and are mounted on a canvas.

I have also tried my hand at Hexie Flowers too !! Gosh they are so much fun to make.
I am off to Sydney for the Craft & Quilt Event with Jo and Helen early on Friday morning so I will chat with you when I get back.

Early Bird Christmas Crafting

Have you joined the Early Bird Christmas Crafting group over at Judith's? Here is the Journal that I made for myself to record all of my lists.

Whilst making my journal I decided that some journals for my loved ones would be a good idea so here is 2 more.

And another 2 smaller ones - Just need to go and buy the journals now for these ones.

Then I decided to go through my scrap box of fabrics and made some lavender sachets.

I had some left over fabric from a few weeks ago when I made my Aviary Bags so decided to use it in a cushion with a recycled doily. I embroidered on it "A Family Is a Gift That Lasts Forever". I am not sure who I will give this one to yet.

But for now it is sitting on my entrance bench. It feels so good to be making a start on Christmas gift giving so early. Have you made your gift lists yet?
